MatlaWelcome to Matla (مطلع), a prayer-times, Quran and athkar app made by Mohamed Zakaria El-Zoghbi (ZaPlatform). By using the app you agree to these terms and to Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which governs every app downloaded from the App Store. Where the two conflict, Apple's agreement prevails.
The app is free
- Every feature of Matla is free and open to everyone, with no ads and no account.
- Financial support is entirely optional and unlocks nothing. Nothing in the app changes whether or not you support it.
"Thank Matla": one-time support
- Three one-time amounts: a small thanks (EGP 19.99), a thanks (EGP 49.99) and a big thanks (EGP 99.99). These are the Egyptian storefront's prices; elsewhere the app shows the price Apple sets in your currency.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
- These are consumable purchases and are not refundable through us. To ask for a refund, contact Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, under Apple's policies.
"Monthly thanks": an auto-renewing subscription
- Length and price: one month, at EGP 29.99 per month on the Egyptian storefront, or the price shown in the app for your country before you buy.
- Payment: charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
- Auto-renewal: the subscription renews automatically at the end of each month at the same price unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
- Managing and cancelling: in the iPhone's Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Matla, or in the App Store → your account picture → Subscriptions. The subscription stays active until the end of the paid period; no partial refunds are given for it.
- The subscription unlocks no features; it is a recurring thank-you only.
Prayer times and religious content
- Prayer times are calculated on your device from your location and the method you choose. We work to make them accurate, but they are an astronomical calculation that can differ by minutes from your mosque's or your country's timetable; where they differ, follow what is announced locally. You can adjust each prayer by the minute.
- The Hijri date uses the Umm al-Qura calendar and can differ by a day from the moon sighting in your country.
- The Qibla direction relies on the device's compass, whose accuracy is affected by nearby metal and magnets.
- The mushaf text and athkar come from established sources named in the app. If you find an error, write to us so we can correct it.
- The Fajr alarm and the adhan rely on iOS alarms and notifications; we can't guarantee them if the phone is off, out of battery, or notifications are disabled.
Third-party content
The live broadcasts (the Saudi Broadcasting Authority's YouTube channels), Holy Quran Radio from Cairo, and the recitations (mp3quran.net) come from their owners and are subject to their terms. We don't own them or control their availability.
Acceptable use
Use Matla for yourself and for non-commercial purposes. Don't try to disrupt it, or copy and sell or republish its content as your own.
Limitation of liability
The app is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any harm arising from using it or being unable to use it, including a missed prayer time or alarm.
Privacy
What we collect, and what we don't, is explained in the privacy policy.
Changes
We may update these terms and will change the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept it.
